A healthy snack
A healthy snack

Students in the first grade at Schley County Elementary School are learning to make good choices when snacking. Rather than choosing high sugar or salty snacks, teachers are encouraging students to make healthy choices. After reading Healthy Snacks and watching the BrainPopJr.com video on healthy snacking, students used a paper plate as their face. They added one half of a green grape for each eye and a blueberry for each pupil. A raspberry was used for the nose and an apple slice for the mouth. Finally, hair was added in the form of puffed corn. After completing their happy, healthy snack face, students enjoyed eating their snacks.
